Conceit
by John Stone on Jun.10, 2009, under My Thoughts
Conceit, as a noun, is defined by the Random House Dictionary as, “an excessively favorable opinion of one’s own ability, importance, wit, ect”. The American Heritage Dictionary defines conceit as, “A favorable and especially unduly high opinion of one’s own abilities or worth”. Synonyms of conceit include, “excessive high regard for oneself: boasting that reveals conceit; imperturbable egoism; arrogance and egotism”.
Conservatives define conceit as, Barack Obama.
An old adage states that “conceit is a fault and I don’t have any.” Trust me, I have never uttered this statement and I’m sure I never will. Our President however, is the epitome of conceit.
What He Meant To Say.
by John Stone on Jun.07, 2009, under My Thoughts
“What I meant to say”, “What he meant to say”, seems to have become the norm in the Washington, Democratic Party circle.
It has become increasing obvious that Conservatives actually say what they mean, the first time. There is no need for translations or interpretations. There is no need for another Conservative to come behind the first and restate the first’s statement in other words or terms – damage control. And most Conservatives, when speaking about what they are passionate about, don’t need a speech which is fully scripted and teleprompted.
D-Day – 65th Rememberence
by John Stone on Jun.06, 2009, under My Thoughts
As I sat watching the D-Day Memorial from the Omaha Beach Memorial Site this morning, I couldn’t but be moved by what I saw and heard. The camera panned across the rows upon rows of crosses which lined the pristine lawns and gardens atop the ridge, looking down on the beach where so many brave, young American Soldiers lost their lives, sixty five years ago.
In the Fox News studio with Chris Wallace was 84 year old WWII combat veteran Frank South. Mr. South was just nineteen when he and his “Brothers In Arms” stormed the beach. He spoke of the conditions they faced, artillery raining down, frigid waters, ducking machine gun fire and his fellow soldiers falling by his side. But as he remembered those horrid conditions, his eyes welling up with tears, his voice breaking, there was a slight hint of a smile. Because, despite all that they faced and the losses they experienced, he remembered the brotherhood, the selfless acts of courage, brothers helping brothers.
Obama – On The Right Path – For He and Islam
by John Stone on Jun.05, 2009, under My Thoughts
So, Obama has made his pilgrimage to the Middle East. He has spent his time addressing Muslims around the world, from various venues and again, apologizing for we ruthless, nasty Americans. Is he proud of his country? If he is, it sure doesn’t show. But, is The United States his country?
Obama has spent his time in foreign lands talking against the US, this his third trip overseas. He has become the appeaser to those who would look down at us and wish us harm. Even though he did echo some of the same words and ideals of former President Bush with regard to the protection of Americans, he still didn’t drive home the idea that we just won’t tolerate harm to the U.S. nor its people.
In his speech delivered from Cairo, Egypt, Obama said he understood about “the sweeping change brought by modernity and globalization [which has] led many Muslims to view the West as hostile to the traditions of Islam”. Up until THIS administration, “globalization” by the west has been minimal. It has been only been since Obama’s election to the White House that globalization has been cranked up. Islam hates Americans because of our freedoms and way of life, period. The primary objective of Islam is to convert all to Islam and for those who will not convert; they shall be enslaved or killed.
America – To The Power Of “The One”
by John Stone on May.29, 2009, under Politics
There’s an old saying that states; if we don’t learn by our mistakes, we are destined to repeat them. And so it goes that we are repeating mistakes made within the auto industry.
The media reports on a daily basis the turmoil within the auto industry, particularly two of the “Big Three”, General Motors Corp. and Chrysler Corp. GM is only days away from “Bankruptcy”, or whatever it can be deemed as today, and Chrysler has already accepted their government dictated “Modified Bankruptcy”. Added to this are the tens of billions of taxpayers’ dollars that has been pumped into these two ailing corporations with little to no chance of seeing these funds returned.
Lets get it started!
